Community Paramedicine Program

This year, The Thursday Club is proud to support an innovative in-home Community Paramedicine service launched by the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps (OVAC), serving Westchester County in partnership with regional health care providers.

This forward-thinking program deploys paramedic teams directly to patients’ homes, delivering high-quality, on-site clinical care — including assessments, hydration, oxygen therapy, select point-of-care testing, medication support, and coordinated follow-up services.

This model is especially valuable for older adults, hospice patients, and other medically vulnerable residents, helping them remain safely at home while reducing avoidable emergency room visits and repeat 911 utilization.

It also keeps ambulances available for time-critical emergencies and helps ease the strain on emergency departments and staff.

The service is provided at no cost to patients and is sustained entirely through philanthropic support.

With the proceeds from this year’s Benefit, The Thursday Club hopes to fund an additional response vehicle and a complete set of medical equipment for the program — an investment that will strengthen access to care now and create lasting impact for the community.
